Wisconsin signee wishing Gophers well?

There are certain things you should never do when coming into the rivalry rich Big Ten…. Most cardinal amongst them? Wishing your opponent well. Unfortunately that's exactly what recent Badgers signee Keelon Brookins did as he wished the hated Gophers good luck in their bowl game today.

Here's exactly what he said via his Facebook: "Not a Gopher but sending them love as they get ready for their game tonight. #GoGophers!"

What the heck? Oh…. the outrage!! Seriously, it's like a kid from Michigan committing to the Buckeyes and then wishing Michigan well, or vice versa, it's not a good look, nor good form. Come on man, you have to know that you can't do that.

That should be commandment No. 1 when you sign on the dotted line. You become one with the school you sign with and that means hating your rivals. Tisk, tisk Mr. Brookins.

Now, maybe he meant it in the most sarcastic of ways, after all the Gophers have lost 9 straight games against the Badgers and it could be an even decade next year. So, perhaps he's wishing them well because he wants the rivalry to actually mean something on the field next season?

Or, perhaps it's because he's a St. Paul native and he's just wishing his Twin Cities brethren well… You pick, but either way Sconnie nation can't be too happy with that to say the least. On the bright side, at least they aren't as harassing or dickish as tOSU fans or Meeeechigan fans when it comes to these sorts of things.

But, you better believe that he'll hear it from some in Sconnie nation, just not to the extent or extreme of some around the Big Ten.

I'm sure Brookins will learn a quick lesson here and a fast one from his future teammates when they get ahold of this, but that's just part of growing up and understanding what it means to play for Paul Bunyan's Axe.
