A Ticket And Travel Preview Of This Week’s Top Big 10 Games

The Big Ten standings comes in bunches, with Wisconsin leading the pack with a two and a half game lead on four teams: Maryland, Ohio State, Indiana and Purdue.

But Wisconsin continues to win even without point guard Traevon Jackson who is missing time with a fractured foot. National Player of the Year candidate, Frank Kaminsky continues to lead the way with 17.5 points per game with 8.1 rebounds per game.

The Big 10 currently has three ranked teams: Wisconsin, Maryland and Ohio State. Maryland has lost three of its last five games and may be feeling the heat of the Big 10 gauntlet during their first season in the conference. Ohio State seems to be on the rise, winning four of its last five while enjoying the meteoric rise of freshman guard D’Angelo Russell, whose play is putting himself on the national radar.

Let’s take a look at some of the biggest matchups of the Big 10 schedule this week, the week of February 9th, along with ticket and travel information.

2/10/2015 Wisconsin Badgers at Nebraska Cornhuskers | Average Ticket Price: $28 | Get-in Ticket Price: $9

Wisconsin has five of its last eight games on the road and they will take on one of the better players in the conference on Tuesday night in Terran Petteway. The junior forward is averaging 18.7 points per game with 4.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Pinnacle Bank Arena will be a sea of red when Wisconsin comes to town as Nebraska looks to bolster their postseason resume.

Badgers fans looking to make the trip will be able to find Omaha hotels for as little as $67, according to Hipmunk.com. Omaha flights vary upon location, but a trip from Madison would cost approximately $400 round trip.

2/11/2015 Indiana Hoosiers at Maryland Terrapins | Average Ticket Price: $51.30 | Get-in Ticket Price: $27

Maryland struggles in the Big 10 this season haven’t come in games hosted at the Xfinity Center in College Park. Their only home loss was against a non-conference in Virginia. The Hoosiers are virtually tied with the Terrapins, both with a 7-4 conference record. This game will propel one or the other towards possibly stealing a regular season Big 10 title form Wisconsin.

2/14/2015 Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan State Spartans | Average Ticket Price: $81.91 | Get-in Ticket Price: $37

No freshman in the Big 10 has had a bigger impact on their team than Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell. The third-place Buckeyes have one of the most efficient offenses in the country, ranking third in the nation in field goal percentage. Michigan State is near panic mode, but a huge win against a ranked opponent at the Breslin Center will have their arrow pointing up heading towards the Big 10 conference tournament.
